Below is a sample from my capstone thesis paper for my Master’s degree from American University.
My research detailed the burgeoning field of gastrodiplomacy – which is the ability for a nation to communicate and establish its own narrative to a global audience by utilizing its cuisine and cultural heritage as an attractive and tangible component of its identity. To successfully utilize gastrodiplomacy, a country must have a rich cultural history connected to the development and utilization of its local food as well as the ability for its government to engage with various stakeholders (non-profits, corporations, private individuals, etc.).
Successfully presented thesis argument and received highest marks.
