British Embassy Washington

Internal Communications and Engagement Officer
Washington, D.C. | June 2022 – Present

  • Lead internal communications for complete US-wide network and communicate principal information to over 1,000 employees at the direction of the UK Government.
  • Work closely with and at the direction of the British Ambassador to the United States and the British Consul General to Washington; liaise with executive heads of Embassy sections across all government departments to align key messaging and corporate strategies.
  • Utilize and communicate effectively with all marketing and communications channels including email, digital signage, Microsoft Teams, video communication, and social media platforms.
  • Lead all network-wide staff meetings, all staff internal events for UK government priorities, and external staff development opportunities, training, security, and professional growth.
  • Develop innovative ideas and campaigns to modernize communications efficiencies and promote corporate priorities and boost staff morale.
  • Champion staff participation in annual survey and help senior leaders interpret results and provide instructive feedback to develop and deliver positive and productive change at executive level.

  • Provided research and drafted writing and digital marketing content for the School of Communications (SOC) aimed at the prospective domestic and international student audience.
  • Interviewed SOC alumni and published written editorials to the SOC website to highlight the success and diverse careers of alumni.
  • Assisted admissions faculty with prospective student outreach – facilitating more than 50 interviews. Led the interview process for the English-language testing of all international applicants.
Washington Nationals Baseball Club

Manager, Event Marketing and Administration

  • Managed digital content & social media calendar for Nationals Park channels (combined reach of 36K); created sales presentations and updated cohesive branding on venue marketing collateral.
  • Maintained the web page creation and updating for all Nationals Park venue events, including on-sales, promotion, communications, and customer service for concerts, full-ballpark collaboration events, and Nationals-branded events.
  • Advanced the Nationals relationship with external tourism partners and worked across channels to develop tourism marketing materials.

  • Managed events production and integrated the communications strategy needed for more than 200 domestic and international events with attendees ranging from 100 – 1,000 persons; designed and implemented event décor and digital communications materials; secured vendors, venues, contract terms, and budget management.
