I recently found this photo from a roll of film I developed from my Junior Year of college. A group of friends and I spent our spring break week floating around the crystal blue waters and feeling the gentle salt breeze of the Bahamas. I wish I could say I came back perfectly sun-kissed, but in reality I was definitely sun-burnt.
Taking a break from the surf and sand, we docked on shore and explored the many shops and markets in Nassau. I love this photo because it’s a leap back in time. It feels reminiscent of the childhood stories my dad told me about his trips to the Bahamas with my grandparents. Between the classic cars, the vintage designer stores, and the grain of the film, this photo could be picked right out of a 1960s tourism ad. Whether you want to window shop or snorkel in the shallows, these collections of islands have something to offer for everyone.
